Ahupuaa is a traditional Hawaiian system of land division from mauka (mountains) to makai (ocean). It represents much more than that, though. Ahupuaa is a way of life that represents sustainability and the harmonious nature of relationships.

There are three levels within an ahupuaa: mauka (mountains), kula (plains), and makai (ocean). Each holds a unique ecosystem of plants and animals, as well as a community, that work together and depend on one another as water flows from the mountaintop, through the plains, and into the ocean. This way, the fisherman can give to the farmer, and the farmer can give to the fisherman. When we do our part to malama (care for) the land and each other, the land cares for us in return.

It’s one thing to visit a place. But it’s another to make that place better upon leaving.

Discover how you can give back on your future trip to Hawaii by visiting gohawaii.com/malama.

Download the GoHawaii App – Hawaii’s official app for visitors.

It’s everything you need to plan the Hawaii vacation you have dreamed about.

Created by the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA), the GoHawaii app is an informative resource for travelers looking to plan their trip, and discover all that Hawaii offers.

The GoHawaii app offers users the ability to access information regarding the six major Hawaiian Islands: KauaiOahuMauiMolokaiLanai and Hawaii (Big Island).

Keep up to date with events, places of interest, cultural activities and more! A directory of relevant Hawaii websites and phone numbers is also provided to direct travelers to other reliable sources for information and assistance.

For the 6th year running, LUXlife is delighted to announce the winners of their annual Resorts and Retreats Awards 2021.

Darmic was voted Best Family Owned Vacation Rental Accommodation in Hawaii – an award gratefully received after a difficult year for the tourism industry.

All floors of the Waikiki Banyan (except the 6th floor) have a laundry room for guests to use.

Washing machines and dryers are coin-operated – however now you can also download an easy-to-use payment App (PayRange) on your phone.  This is available for free on IOS (Apple Store) and Android (Google Play).

Once the App is installed, simply add funds (using a variety of payment methods) and you are ready to go.

We would recommend that our guests download and set this up before their trip to Hawaii.

This new site is bigger and brighter, easier to navigate and now features a Specials page and Testimonials.   A Frequently Asked Questions page is also included which has been compiled over the years from your most commonly asked questions.

Each of our accommodation options are showcased with larger images of the suites and more details on amenities and rates.

Plus we have added an Enhance Your Stay section – where we will be introducing our recommendations for Activities, Dining and Shopping on Oahu.
Keep an eye out here for special deals and promotions in the future… exclusively for our Darmic guests.
