IMPORTANT NOTICE – WAIKIKI BANYAN MAINTENANCE PROJECTS (SEPT 2020 TO APRIL 2021)
Please be aware that effective September 28, 2020 the Waikiki Banyan has two large maintenance projects underway.
Refer to the Waikiki Banyan website and click on the icons for SPALL PROJECT and DRAIN/VENT LINE PROJECT for more information and schedules. Both projects are scheduled between September 2020 and April 2021, with affects such as dust, noise, water shut offs and other reduced amenities possible at various times.
All suites in Tower 2 are likely to be affected by water shut-offs over March and April – from Monday to Friday from 7.00am to 4.00pm. There is also some spalling work around the perimeter of the parking garage (floors 1-5) which may cause some noise disruption in some suites/floors.
We are therefore offering a 20% discount on the advertised room rates for suites in Tower 2 (only) over March and April (not including taxes and fees).

Vacation Apartments at the Waikiki Banyan
Welcome to the Waikiki Banyan – located on the beautiful Hawaiian island of Oahu. The Waikiki Banyan is just a short stroll to the soul satisfying waters of Waikiki Beach and is the perfect location for your vacation, be it energetic or relaxing.
The family-friendly complex is made up of over 870 privately owned one-bedroom apartments– allowing you to enjoy the comforts of home at a resort-like facility. It can be lively and bustling, with holidaymakers going to the beach, playing on the tennis court, which doubles as a basketball court, swimming in the large heated fresh water pool, soaking in one of the two Jacuzzis or the sauna, or simply relaxing while watching the children have fun in the playground.
There are plenty of comfortable lounge chairs to stretch out on, whether around the swimming pool or in a quiet shady area close by. Enjoy quiet evenings on your private lanai sipping a cocktail – or prepare your evening meal on one of the coin operated barbeque’s and dine al fresco.
There are two high rise buildings on site – Tower 1 is 37 floors high and Tower 2 is 38 floors high. Each level has 14 apartments, except the 6th floor which has 12.
- 6th floor Recreation Deck – one of the largest in Waikiki! For Waikiki Banyan guest use only. With a large fresh water swimming pool, two hot tubs, sauna, tennis/basketball court, BBQ area (with coin operated barbeques), children’s playground and plenty of comfortable lounge chairs to stretch out on.
- Banyan Breeze coffee shop (on the ground floor) along with a mini mart and the tourist information desk.
- Secure carparking garage (with one free carpark per room available to Darmic guests)
- Laundry room (coin operated) available on each floor
- 24 hour security in the complex
All onsite facilities including the recreation deck, mini mart and cafe are available for your use – NO RESORT FEES!
The Waikiki Banyan is located on the corner of Ohua and Kuhio Avenues – just one block from the warm sands and blue waters of Waikiki Beach and a short walk down to Kalakaua Avenue.
Swimming is safe for children in a lagoon style area at the end of Ohua Ave, while further down the beach are fun waves to play, body surf and boogie board in. Take a short stroll along Kalakaua Ave and see the surfers out catching the waves.
The bus travels both ways on Kuhio Avenue and for the flat fare of $2.50 you can go half way around the island of Oahu.
Sightseeing and shopping shuttles also pass by on Kuhio with destinations including Haunama Bay, Sealife Park, Ala Moana Shopping Centre, Waikele Outlet Shops and more.
The Waikiki Banyan is conveniently located near a huge selection of restaurants, bars and shops – with budgets and styles to suit everyone. Explore the stalls in Dukes Lane, marvel at the high end stores on Kalakaua or simply stroll around Kapiolani Park.
For the more energetic, climb Diamond Head for amazing views or Waikiki and surrounds, venture further afield on a guided tour around the island, or spend the day at the Waikiki Aquarium or Honolulu Zoo.

There is no Level 13 in either tower? Check the elevator next time, it goes from 12 to 14.
That only units on the 6th floor are allowed to have a washer/dryer installed in the condo. There is a laundry room on every floor except the 6th floor.
That the lowest accommodation level is the 6th floor! Below that is car parking and the management offices.
